Family Medicine is a branch of medicine that specializes in the treatment of the entire family.  Family Medicine doctors go through a three year residency training program after they finish medical school during which they complete rotations in Pediatrics, Surgery, Gynecology , Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.  A Family Practitioner is trained in caring for the general medical needs of patients from infancy to adulthood.
